From the beginning….

This blog is a journal of my journey through alzheimers disease.

Alzheimers is a terrible disease, taking the lives of many people every year.

i lost my grandma to alzheimers in 1997, and this past october, i lost my sweet dad to this terrible disease.

losing dad has been more painful than i ever thought possible.  in reality, i have been saying “good-bye” to my dad for the past nine years, as more and more of him died to alzheimers.

but saying good-bye to him for the last time,and letting go of his hand for the last time, is something that i will never forget.

i do know that i wll see him again someday, when i die and go to heaven, but until then, i will miss him something fierce.

my hope is that God will use my journey through alzheimers to minister to others who may be hurting over the loss of a loved one, or may be walking through the alzheimers jouney themselves.
